One of the most surprising announcements from The Game Awards is coming from AdHoc Studio, a company founded in late 2018 by developers from Telltale Games, Ubisoft, and Night School Studio. The announcement reveals the upcoming release of The Wolf Among Us 2, a game that was in the works at Telltale Games before the studio shut down in late 2018.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is developed by AdHoc Studio in partnership with LCG Entertainment, the company that owns the brand, assets and various IPs from the original Telltale Games studio.

Returning to work on The Wolf Among Us 2 via AdHoc Studio are directors, Nick Herman and Dennis Lenart. Also, writer Pierre Shorette is on board as well, along with the award-winning voice actors, Adam Harrington as Bigby Wolf, and Erin Yvette as Snow White and composer Jared Emerson-Johnson. Additionally, Telltale Game’s former VP of Engineering, Zac Litton, has joined the new Telltale team as CTO.

When the opportunity came up, it was an easy decision for us. Developing The Wolf Among Us was my first project at Telltale and the start of a creative partnership with Nick and Dennis, so obviously we’re excited to further explore the Fables universe,” said Pierre Shorette, CCO of AdHoc Studio.

According to LCG Entertainment, The Wolf Among Us 2 is only the first new game to be announced since the purchase of the Telltale Games brand, assets, and technology, and is licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC. Other titles from the original company's back catalog of the game might be revived in the future, so you can be excited if you're a fan of any of Telltale's episodic games.

Sadly, apart from the very short announcement trailer, no additional details about the game are available yet. We only know it will be launched on consoles and PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive.
