Razer has just announced plans to bring back the Naga mouse for left-handed gamers. Although the project received the green light, it's nowhere near completion as Razer wants to know how many people would be interested to buy such a product.

If the Razer Naga: Left-Handed Edition will be a success, it will be the company's second Naga mouse aimed at left-handed gamers, after the Naga Trinity that was launched a long time ago.

It seems that Razer's decision to start working on such a product is based on feedback received from many left-handed gamers: “thanks to our group of passionate left-handed gamers, we have started work on the Razer Naga: Left-Handed Edition. However, there’s still a lot more work to be done and we want to hear from the many others who not only want, but need the device.”

Moreover, the company recognizes that this is a costly adventure that requires a lot of resources without offering the same financial benefits as any of the regular mice Razer launches throughout a year.

Although Razer shipped thousands of units of left-hand mice over the past six or seven years, the company confirmed that it ships about the same number of right-hand mice in a single day, so it's clear that the company has nothing to gain by launching another left-handed gaming mouse.

Last year, the company's co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said that he's considering doing a Kickstarter/Indigogo crowdfunding campaign for a left-handed mouse, but only if the company meets a 10k unit demand. Even so, Tan claims Razer is likely to produce them at a loss, but the number is significant enough to allow it to do a single run and support the community.

Well, it looks like Razer has decided to go ahead with the project and now is trying to reach as many potential customers as possible. If you're a left-handed gamer, you might want to pre-register and show Razer your support.
