Next month shapes up to be a waiting lobby for November, one of the most crowded months of the year when it comes to major video game releases. But we're here to talk about October, not November, so here is what to expect in case you're looking for something interesting to pass the time.

First off, we have EA's Star Wars: Squadrons (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One) and Activision's Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (PlayStation 4, Xbox One) coming out on October 2. Having been delayed by a week, Baldur's Gate 3 is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on October 6, but Google Stadia subscribers will be able to play the game too.

Three smaller games will be released on October 8, here they are in no particular order: I Am Dead (PC, Nintendo Switch), Ikenfell (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), and Ride 4 (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One). It's worth mentioning that Ikenfell will be added to Xbox Game Pass as well, so if you're subscribed to Microsoft's service, you'll be able to play it for free.

FIFA 21, another big release happening next month, is coming out on October 8 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Psychological horror Remothered: Broken Porcelain releases on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 13, followed by Partisans 1941 (PC) on October 14.

PC players will be able to pick up Microsoft's Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition on October 15, the same day that Cake Bash is making its debut on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch) launches on October 16, while Scourgebringer drops on PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 21.

Next in line, we have Transformers Battlegrounds (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), which releases on October 23. Ghostrunner (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), Trails of Cold Steel 4 (PlayStation 4), and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands (PC) all launch on October 27, followed by AGOS: A Game of Space (Rift, Vive, Index) on October 28.

Ubisoft's first big launch of the year, Watch Dogs: Legion launches on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia on October 29. The Xbox One Series X/S version is coming out on November 10, while PlayStation 5 owners will get it two days later.

Finally, The Dark Pictures – Little Hope (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One) and Pikmin 3 Deluxe (Nintendo Switch) are the last games coming out in October. It's yet unclear if Second Extinction will enter Steam Early Access next month, but we'll let you know once we have more details.
