Apple is one of the companies that are planning to invest in foldable devices, and while an iPhone with this new form factor is still nowhere to be seen, people close to the matter say such a model could go live as soon as 2022.

Of course, everything can change overnight because of obvious reasons, but while Apple keeps working on the foldable iPhone behind the closed doors in Cupertino, designers out there come up with all kinds of brilliants ideas that Apple could really use to build such a smartphone.

One such project comes from Technizo Concept and LetsGoDigital, who shared on YouTube a concept envisioning a so-called iPhone Flip based on the Galaxy Z Flip. In other words, it’s a different kind of foldable iPhone, and to be honest, it looks kind of nice.

While I won’t comment too much on what the eyes can see, make sure you click play in the video embedded below to see what the iPhone Flip is all about.

The foldable iPhone

In the meantime, previous reports on the foldable iPhone indicated that Apple is more interested in a design that connects the two screens with a hinge, more like the way Microsoft uses on its Surface Duo.

Of course, Apple’s iPhone would also support multiple form factors, just like the Surface Duo, including the phone mode and the full tablet that provides greater screen estate.

Needless to say, with Apple keeping every little detail away from us it’s pretty hard to tell which direction the company is planning to use, but more information should make the headlines as we approach the release date.

In the meantime, Samsung is pushing hard for foldables, with the company promising to bring this form factor at lower price ranges as soon as this year.
