The rollout of devices that are part of the second-generation Always Connected PCs running Windows 10 on ARM chips has officially started, as Lenovo used the IFA show in Berlin to showcase the company’s first Snapdragon 850 device.

Lenovo Yoga C630 is the first laptop that comes with Qualcomm’s PC-optimized chip, promising a stunning battery life of no less than 25 hours per charge.

The Snapdragon 850, which has been specifically tuned to last longer without an impact on performance, is likely to be used on a series of other Always Connected PCs as well, and expect them to see daylight by the end of the year.

Lenovo’s claimed battery life is impressive, to say the least, but as it happened in the case of the first Windows 10 on ARM devices, it all depends on the scale of the compromise that buyers need to make in regard to performance.

In addition to the said chip, Lenovo will sell the new Yoga C630 with up to 8GB RAM in the top-of-the-range configuration, and you’ll also get a maximum of 256GB built-in storage. Graphics will be powered by a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU chip.

The 13.3-inch laptop boasts an IPS screen with touch support and 1920x1080 pixels resolution. There are two USB Type-C ports, plus a fingerprint reader for unlocking the device when signing in to Windows 10. The convertible form factor allows the laptop to transform to tent mode for more convenient touch input.

Lenovo Yoga C630 will go on sale in November at a starting price of $850, and the top configuration could exceed $1,000. A pen won’t be offered in the box, but Lenovo sells it separately should you want more accurate touch input.

Further details will be provided when the device goes on sale, as for the time being Lenovo decided to stick with the essentials and only let the world know that its new-generation Always Connected PCs is on the way.
