Microsoft is rapidly evolving the Microsoft Teams ecosystem, and the company has managed to turn this productivity service into a complete platform, with more and more partners noticing the potential it has and thus deciding to invest in it.

Including several hardware companies, that is, as Microsoft has announced at the Ignite event this week more hardware that was specifically built with Microsoft Teams in mind.

The first two are two monitors that bundled hardware that allow easy communications via Microsoft teams, including a microphone, a speaker, and a camera.

Of course, this isn’t much and it’s not by any means an industry-first, but what’s more special about these monitors is that Microsoft itself certified them for Microsoft Teams.

“Today, we’re announcing the first monitors certified for Microsoft Teams, the new Dell Video conferencing monitor, and the Poly 21. These new monitors integrate critical conferencing hardware like a microphone, speaker, camera, and light right into the monitor, so employees can simply attach their PC via USB to get started on collaboration and maximizing productivity,” the company said.

115 million DAU and counting

In addition, the software giant has also announced a video bar, as well as a new cam that comes with integrated lights to make sure the video quality during Microsoft Teams meetings is the best.

“The new P15 video bar from Poly is an easy-to-mount peripheral that transforms an existing monitor into a high-quality Teams endpoint. Lastly, the new Cam 130 by Aver integrates lights as well, allowing users to present their best selves in video meetings,” it says.

The adoption of Microsoft Teams has skyrocketed during the pandemic for obvious reasons, with Microsoft revealing in late 2020 that its daily active user account reached 115 million. The numbers are likely to increase even more, especially following all these investments in the platform.
