The update includes Bluetooth and Wireless improvements

Microsoft has rolled out the January 2020 cumulative firmware and drivers pack targeted at its Surface Studio and Surface Studio 2, which improves the device’s Bluetooth connectivity and resolves certain Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

To be more specific, the current release implements these changes by installing the 15.68.17017.115 version of Marvell’s AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter and AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller drivers.

In addition to that, Microsoft has also released the same January 2020 cumulative firmware and drivers pack developed for the Surface Pro 7 units, still, there is no changelog available at the moment (might include the same improvements, might add other changes, or do both).

Therefore, if you can make use of these changes or want your tablet to be up to date, you can apply this new update by using Microsoft’s Windows Update Service. However, bear in mind that through this method not all users receive the January pack at the same time.

If you don’t have the time to wait for your device to update itself automatically, you can also manually download, extract, and install all the drivers right now using the link below. Sill, don’t forget that this package is only compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 10 platform.

Last but not least, after applying all packages, it would be a good idea to reboot your tablet manually (if not requested automatically), to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That said, download the appropriate package for your device using the links below, apply it on your unit, and check back with us as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
