Microsoft is expected to announce the third-generation Surface Book later this year, and while the company remains completely tight-lipped on everything related to this new device, the recent leaks are likely the living proof the unveiling isn’t very far.

This time, the folks over at NotebookCheck came across a benchmark that seemingly reveals the Surface Book 3 with an Intel Core i5.

According to this listing, the i5 version of the Surface Book 3 will be powered by an Intel Core i5-1035G1 (10th Gen Intel chips) paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage.

Of course, no other details are available at this point, but this benchmark confirms that Microsoft will launch several Surface Book 3 configurations, with RAM options likely to start at 6 GB or 8 GB. However, I don’t expect this one to be the base Surface Book 3 model, so there’s a chance a lower-spec configuration is also planned.

But at the same time, the Surface Book 3 lineup will also include a more powerful configuration with an Intel Core i7 chip, more RAM, possibly 32GB, and a lot more storage, most likely 1TB.

As for when we’re supposed to get the new Surface Book model, very little is known at this point, but the company is expected to unveil the upgraded series in the fall. Microsoft typically introduces new models in the spring or in the fall, but given the current coronavirus outbreak, there’s a good chance the company holds back the announcement for the second half of the year.

The second-generation Surface Go is also expected to see daylight alongside the Surface Book 3 at the same event. This one will continue to be Microsoft’s smallest and cheapest Surface, with pricing to start at approximately $399, just like on the current model.
