Third-party concept shows users want more from Windows 10

Windows 10 indeed brought back the Start menu, with a new design and layout, obviously, and it implemented a bunch of personalization and customization options, but it’s no secret that there are users out there who want even more from such a significant OS upgrade.

And most of these users have already posted these suggestions online on forums or right in the Windows 10 Feedback app, so skilled designers across the world adopt them for their very own concepts.

This is the case of this Windows 10 concept created by DeviantArt user lukeled, who created a stunning desktop that includes a redesigned Start menu and taskbar.

Interactive live tiles

As you can see, the Start menu uses a much cleaner approach, but at the same time, it also brings interactive live tiles, a feature that was originally expected in Windows 10 too but that Microsoft doesn’t seem to be willing to integrate at this point.

Groove Music, for instance, uses its live tile to display the playing song, but also to provide users with quick controls to play, pause, skip to the previous or next song without actually launching the app itself.

The taskbar has also been redesigned with a much simpler layout and full flat look, with icons now embracing a minimal design. The black and white combination definitely looks good, and we have no doubt that many users would absolutely love to have such a design in Windows 10.

Overall, this concept surely looks good, even though it still needs a bunch of improvements here and there. Unfortunately, although Microsoft undoubtedly finds these concepts online, the company isn’t really interested in adopting such ideas for the full version of Windows 10.

The next big update for Windows 10 is projected to launch in the summer of 2016, so maybe this could be the moment when the desktop gets another big overhaul.
