THQ Nordic has just announced it has decided to postpone the console version of SpellForce III Reforced to March 8, 2022. The game was originally slated for an early December release, alongside the PC version, but it’s now being pushed back by three months.

The good news is PC players will be able to pick up SpellForce III Reforced Edition on December 6, 2021. The game will be available for purchase for $40 / €40, but owners of SpellForce III on PC will receive the Reforced Edition as a free update.

It’s important to mention that additionally to the SpellForce III Reforced base game, both expansions, Soul Harvest and Fallen God, will also be available on March 8, 2022, each one sold separately for $19.99/€19.99. Both expansions feature their own single-player campaign with 30+ hours of gameplay each, as well as new units and more. The whole package, called SpellForce II Reforced Complete Edition is also available for $59.99 / €59.99.

SpellForce III Reforced Edition is an improved version of the original SpellForce III, featuring an enhanced campaign experience including improved RTS mechanics and reworked RTS faction designs introduced in the two expansions, reworked skill trees, improved quests, improved coop mode, improved loot distribution, improved balancing, complete rework of the hub, as well as fixes for all campaign/quest logic issues.

But wait, there’s more! Besides these campaign features, the Reforced Edition will have a visually and functionally enhanced User Interface, full gamepad support, and new content.

The new content revealed by THQ Nordic includes a new skirmish map, Journey Mode (an additional game mode similar to the original SpellForce’s “Free Game Mode”, providing more than 20 hours of unique content and a lot of replay value), and Journey Skirmish (PvP skirmish matches against other players), Arena Mode (an additional endless game mode where you start with a fresh character, fight against waves of monsters, and buy loot and spells from merchants to compete with other players in the leaderboards).

Additionally, a new Mod Support for the new Journey and Arena modes will allow players to create their own Journey or arena maps and share them with the community.
