Not sure how many of you might remember, but last month we reported about an interesting indie game called In Other Waters. The game is developed by one man, Gareth Damian Martin, who was previously a games journalist for Eurogamer, Kotaku, US Gamer, and a couple of other gaming publications.

Today, we've learned that the game made by Jump Over the Age and published by Fellow Traveller will be coming to PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch on April 3. Moreover, preorders for the Nintendo Switch version of In Other Waters are already live, while those on PC can wishlist the game on Steam right now. In Other Waters is an indie game, hence the low price, just $15. Not to mention that there is a 10% discount for pre-orders that runs now through launch week until April 10.

As far as the game goes, In Other Waters is a narrative adventure that will ultimately allow players to explore an alien ocean while learning secrets and solving puzzles. Apparently, you'll be playing the role of an AI assistant for xenobiologist Ellery Vas.

Vas is searching for her missing partner on the planet Gliese 677Cc and she's equipped with a malfunctioning dive suit possessed by a strange AI unit, you. As she discovers extraterrestrial life and an ocean full of secrets, your job is to help her find the answer to all sorts of mysteries.

In Other Waters is not just about exploration though, as the relationship between the AI and the operator unfolds over an impactful narrative uniquely interpreted by the player. You'll be diving freely into an expansive section of the seafloor, from shimmering reefs to inky depths.

The game lets you unlock upgrades and make discoveries that allow you to open up new paths, uncovering strange creatures and environments as you do. You'll learn to interpret signals, set headings, and map the ocean through experimentation and intuition.

Basically, In Other Waters will allow you to be a virtual Jacques Yves Cousteau. While exploring the ocean, you'll discover and catalog species through observation, scanning, taking samples, and interacting with alien life. These are just a fraction of the interesting stuff you'll be able to do in the game, so keep an eye out on this one if you're into exploration type of games.
