The Xperia Z4 Tablet will get the update as well

Sony Xperia fans might recall that a few smartphones launched by the Japanese company have already received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update several days ago.

However, Xperia Z5 owners reported that the OTA (over the air) is only available in Turkey, so we hoped that it will eventually arrive in other countries as well.

Today, Sony Xperia UK confirmed the update would be available for Xperia Z5 series on March 7. Not only that, but the handset maker announced that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will hit two more Xperia devices on the same date: Xperia Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z3+.

So, aside from Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium, two other Xperia devices should receive the Marshmallow upgrade on March 7.

Unfortunately, no other Xperia smartphones have been confirmed for the update, but Sony promised it will share timings for these upgrades when it's ready.

We also don't know what other countries will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Xperia devices mentioned earlier, but since it will be available in the UK, we expect it to hit more European countries in the next couple of days.

Other mid-range Xperia smartphones should get the update at some point

Sony Mobile and Samsung are among the last to offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for some of its current or past flagship smartphones.

But the Japanese company has already confirmed that some of its mid-range devices will be getting the upgrade as well. Sadly, no Android 6.0 Marshmallow roadmap is available yet, so we will just have to wait and see what Sony says in the coming months.

In other news, Sony announced a press conference for this year's Mobile World Congress, but no details on what the company might launch later this month has been leaked yet.

We doubt the Xperia Z6 will be unveiled at the press event since no teasers have been released, and no info is available at the moment.
