Brazil has the most expensive iPhones because why not

iPhone 13 is now available for pre-order, and just as expected, the device is already selling like hotcakes in many regions across the world.

And while the shipping wouldn’t start earlier than the next Friday, it’s not hard to anticipate that the cheapest version of each model is likely to be among the best-selling devices this year.

But on the other hand, as it happens every year, the iPhone 13 is cheaper in some countries and more expensive in others, all due to things like taxes and everything else that eventually make a smartphone worth a small fortune.

The best example in this regard is none other than Brazil, as the iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with a massive price tag in this country. The 128GB version of the Pro Max, which is the base configuration this year, can be yours in Brazil for close to $2,000.

Whooping 1TB price

And of course, if you need more storage and plan to buy the 1TB version, you’d better not go to Brazil and get it from the country. This is because this particular version costs close to $3,000 in Brazil.

The United States has the cheapest iPhones. The iPhone 13 Pro Max with 128GB of storage can be yours in Apple’s domestic market for $1,099, while the 1TB version costs only $1,599. So Brazilians have to pay nearly twice more because really why not.

Turkey isn’t far either. The base iPhone 13 Pro Max is being sold in the country with a $2,130 price tag, so it’s nearly $1,000 more expensive than in the United States.

And yet, this doesn’t necessarily mean people won’t buy the iPhone 13. They will, and you can bet many will actually choose the top storage model despite the ridiculous price tags.
