UK-based video games publisher Feral Interactive announced today that they plan to port the Shadow of the Tomb Raider video game to Linux and macOS platforms for a 2019 release.

As expected, this comes as a huge surprise for all Linux and Mac gamers, as the Tomb Raider franchise featuring the gorgeous and always brave Lara Croft will be coming to their beloved platforms sometime next year, thanks to the hard work from Feral Interactive, who just ported the Total War: WARHAMMER II game to Linux and Mac.

"Next year, uncover the final piece of the puzzle and experience the conclusion to Lara Croft's thrilling origin story in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, coming to macOS and Linux in 2019. Play as the fearless explorer as she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse," Feral Interactive wrote in today's announcement.

Linux and Mac gamers will be able to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider next year

The recently launched action-adventure video game was developed by Eidos Montréal in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, and published none other than Square Enix, only for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms, but Linux and Mac gamers will be able to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider sometime next year.

Feral Interactive already ported two previous Tomb Raider games, namely Tomb Raider (2013) and Rise of the Tomb Raider, to Linux and Mac platforms, so it was a no-brainer that they would attempt to port the latest installment of the Tomb Raider franchise as well. However, the company did not set an exact release date for the launch.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the beautiful Lara Craft must survive and rise in a new adventure that will take players across terrifying tombs, deadly jungles, and underwater caverns. Once again, you must fight your way to hell and back against the secret global organization called Trinity. As you can image, we can't wait to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Linux and Mac in 2019.
