14 DAY TRIAL // The ridiculously hilarious Serious Sam 4 has finally received a release date, but it's not one that we expect. Instead of coming out in August, developer Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital announced Serious Sam 4 will blast its way to PC and Google Stadia on September 24.
PC players will be able to purchase the game for $40 / €40 via Steam. A Deluxe Edition that includes the original soundtrack, a digital Serious Sam 4 digital artbook, and a Tommy Gun classic weapon skin is also available for purchase for $50 / €50.
The fourth major installment in the Serious Sam saga keeps the same formula for the most part: shoot and never ask any questions after. Serious Sam 4 is about fun-killing demons and making the best of your arsenal of weapons.
The devastating weapons that players will have at their disposal will become the centerpiece of the game since developers have revamped the recipe by adding an unimaginable number of enemies that require players to circle-strafe and backpedal their way out of impossible situations.
Luckily, players won't have to go through this ordeal alone. Serious Sam 4, just like its title says, feature co-op support for up to 4 players. In fact, the entire action-packed campaign can be played with friends for maximum fun.
Not that the story is of any importance in a Serious Sam game, but here is the blurb from Steam in case you're wondering what's the premise: “Humanity is under siege as the full force of Mental’s hordes spread across the world, ravaging what remains of a broken and beaten civilization. The last remaining resistance to the invasion is the Earth Defense Force led by Sam “Serious” Stone and his heavily-armed squad of misfit commandos.”
Croteam promises a game that will unleash some of the biggest moments in the series' history, so you have a bit more than a month to prepare to unleash hell on hellish creatures.
