Samsung is planning to launch two new Windows 10 devices, and their release is projected to happen later this year according to a new report.

And what’s more, it looks like the South Koreans are going to bet big on high-end capabilities, and this could make the new devices alternatives to Microsoft’s Surface lineup.

First and foremost, the new devices would come in two different sizes, namely 13.3 and 15.6 inches. According to SamMobile, Samsung would use an OLED panel on both of them, so the new devices would be one of the few Windows 10 computers with such a display.

Without a doubt, Samsung is aiming for a premium price tag here, though no information is available at this point.

Launching later this year

But according to the same report, Samsung doesn’t just want to stop at the OLED panel as far as the premium capabilities go, so the company also wants to equip both of them with S Pen support. In other words, both will work with pen input, so once again, the new Samsung models would once again be positioned as alternatives to Microsoft’s Surface devices, all of which come with support for the Surface Pen.

Power on the new devices would come from Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, and Wi-Fi and 5G support would also be offered on the Galaxy Book Pro 360. The Galaxy Book Pro, on the other hand, would feature Wi-Fi and LTE, but without a doubt, Samsung’s plan is to offer on-the-go connectivity for everybody.

At this point, there are no specifics as to when the new devices could see the daylight, but it’s pretty clear Samsung wants to invest heavily in its Windows 10 premium device lineup. This is a big win for everybody, including for Microsoft itself, as the software giant still relies on its partners to grow the Windows ecosystem.
