Samsung is once again in a rush to unveil its flagships, as the company wants to bring the latest-generation models to the market ahead of rival Apple, who is projected to take the wraps off new iPhones in September.

This time, Samsung has another reason for being in a hurry to unveil the Note 9 earlier than expected: sales of the Galaxy S9 have so far been only moderate, and since the company can’t find a different way to attract more customers to its new models, introducing a fresh product is seen as the right choice.

And according to new leaked information, the Galaxy Note 9 could see daylight as soon as August 2 or a week later on August 9, with sales to begin shortly after that. The unveiling will take place in New York City, according to leakster Ice Universe, who has a good track on Samsung scoops.

Most likely, sales would begin in mid-August, so Samsung would have around one month and a half ahead of Apple when it comes to new models on the market.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 specs

As for the changes expected on Samsung’s new phablet, the device will be very similar in specs with the Galaxy S9, which means that the same choice of two processors is very likely, namely the Snapdragon 845 and the Exynos 9810, depending on region.

Samsung, however, could increase battery capacity up to 4,000 mAh, according to previous leaks, and this upgrade could trigger small changes in terms of design, with the fingerprint sensor to be placed below the cameras, similarly to the Galaxy S9.

The display will remain the generous 6.4-inch panel seen before, while storage options could go all the way up to 256GB.

Pricing will probably be in the same range as for the previous generation. Full details will be unveiled at the New York event, but expect further leaks to happen in the coming weeks.
