Galaxy Note20 said to be the last model to see daylight

Samsung Galaxy S21 is official now, and the Ultra model is the first non-Note Samsung smartphone to come with support for the S Pen.

As everybody knows already, S Pen was a signature feature for Galaxy Note, so Samsung bringing the same capability to the Galaxy S lineup is something truly big.

There’s one good reason why the whole thing happened, however: Samsung wants to kill off the Galaxy Note, it seems, and to do this, the company first wants to make sure all features are already available elsewhere. And given the S Pen support is what set the Note apart from the rest of the crowd, it was critical for Samsung to make it available on another model.

Note21 could be the last Note to see the daylight

Speaking about the future of the Note series, Samsung executives sidestepped a very important question: is the future of Note at risk or not?

“We are committed to innovating new mobile experiences that flow seamlessly and continuously to make our consumers’ lives easier and better. We’ve made the bold decision to expand the S Pen experience to Galaxy S21 Ultra, and plan to expand the S Pen experience across additional device categories in the future. We remain committed to providing the best mobile experience to our consumers and will continue to actively listen and consider consumer feedback in our product innovations,” TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, said.

The Galaxy Note21 is now expected to go live in the summer, and some people say it could see the daylight earlier than usual. In other words, an official announcement could be released in June, after which the Galaxy Note series would go dark once and for all, with no successor believed to be planned.
