Samsung has recently confirmed the launch date of the upcoming Galaxy S21, as the company officially announced the first Unpacked event of the year.

Traditionally, Unpacked is the name of the event witnessing the introduction of new Galaxy S models, and this year, the Galaxy S21 is the one expected to go live as soon as this month.

Samsung will be hosting the next Unpacked on January 14 under the “Welcome to Everyday Epic” tagline, and despite the teaser video, which you can watch in full at the end of the article, the company has otherwise remained tight-lipped on everything related to the Galaxy S21.

“Over the past year, mobile technology has taken center stage in everyday life as people are working from and spending time at home. The accelerated transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for devices that can transform everyday life into an extraordinary experience,” the company says.

“Learn more about the new experiences that are built to make your everyday life epic at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021, which will be broadcast on Samsung Newsroom, Samsung.com at 10 a.m. EST on January 14, 2021.”

S Pen support

Samsung Galaxy S21 is projected to bring upgrades to all three models in the lineup, though the Ultra is likely to get the most massive overhaul this year.

This is because this will be the first Galaxy S model to feature support for the S Pen, as it’s believed this is just the first step towards the demise of the Galaxy Note. Samsung wants to bring all features of the Note to the Galaxy S series and then discontinue the phablet in an attempt to streamline its offering.

The Ultra, however, wouldn’t come with a dedicated slot for the S Pen, and the stylus would be sold separately. The last Note is expected to launch in the summer.
