The company will start shipping the Ultra on February 25

Samsung is getting ready to take the wraps off its new Galaxy S models in a little over one week, but everybody is obviously curious to find out when exactly the world can get its hands on these devices.

In other words, yes, it’s exciting to know that Samsung will announce the new Galaxy S22 on February 9, but when will fans across the world be able to use it?

The answer to this question is a little bit more complex than you’d expect it to be.

S22 coming in mid-March

Samsung typically unveils new products and then starts shipping them a week or two after this moment. In the meantime, the company runs a pre-order program that gives customers the opportunity of being among the first to receive the just-announced devices.

However, things will be different this time.

Samsung wants to start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 immediately after the February 9 announcement (obviously, this will only take place in the largest markets, but most likely, the availability will be quickly expanded to new regions).

The shipping, however, wouldn’t kick off a week later, but on February 25. However, according to leakster Jon Prosser, only the Galaxy S22 Ultra will become available on this date, as the Galaxy S22 and the S22+ will need more time to reach the hands of customers.

This means the two models would only hit the shelves beginning with March 11.

In case you’re wondering why the delay, the answer is as simple as it could be. Just like everybody else out there, Samsung is struggling with a component shortage, so certain models just have to land later than others.

It goes without saying the South Koreans haven’t said a single thing about this rumor, so we’ll just have to wait until the February 9 event to receive a confirmation of this calendar.
