They seem to be one of Apple's biggest fans

It looks like Samsung is one of Apple’s biggest fans, or at least this is what we can deduce if we take a look at what devices Samsung is using to post stuff on Twitter.

Promoting things on Twitter and any other social media shouldn’t be difficult, or at least this is what people are imagining. There should be some basic rules that don’t need to be spelled out. If you’re Samsung and you want to promote a phone you’re making; you should be using that phone to post things online.

It turns out that this is rather difficult for Samsung. Just a couple of weeks ago, Samsung Nigeria used an iPhone when posting on Twitter, and they were quickly found out. To say that the entire world laughed is an understatement. It’s also the kind of incident that would prompt the company to issue some strict regulations. It wasn’t.

Is it the message or the photos as well?

Samsung Twitter account in India posted a couple of shots that were supposed to emphasize the wide lens of the Galaxy A9 phone. When they don’t seem to know is that Twitter embeds the information about the platform used to make the post, and for this particular one it says “via Twitter for iPhone.”

There is an additional problem, besides the obvious one. Yes, the PR person used an iPhone to post the picture, but at this point, we can’t even be sure if the photo was actually taken with an iPhone. And there is a long history of companies using professional cameras for images that are then passed as the real deal.

As usual, the information regarding the use of an iPhone was spotted by Marques Brownlee, the same one who found out about the Samsung Nigeria incident.
