Samsung has officially taken the wraps off the new Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, and just as expected, the device comes with notable upgrades in all the areas that matter.

First and foremost, the main screen is now a 120Hz 7.6-inch panel with a 22.5:18 aspect ratio, and it offers a peak brightness of 1200 nits. Samsung says it particularly focused on the brightness part, as it wanted the Fold to offer better display quality regardless of the outdoor conditions.

The cover screen is a 6.2-inch panel with a 24.5:9 aspect ratio, and this time, the peak brightness is 1500 nits, as per the official specifications.

Tipping the scales at 271 grams, the new Fold is powered by a 5nm octa-core processor paired with a 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 512GB of storage (a 256GB version is also offered).

Available for pre-order today

There are three cameras on the back, all with 12 megapixels, a 10-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4-megapixel under display camera.

One of the most important features is the new S Pen that comes with the Galaxy Z Fold3, something that Samsung itself teased before, suggesting that stylus input is becoming a key feature.

“On Z Fold3’s massive Main Screen, it’s easier than ever for users to jot down notes during a video call or check off a to-do list while reading emails, and Z Fold3 users can also power their creativity and productivity with our fan-favorite S Pen. S Pen for Z Fold3 comes in two options: S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro. Both feature a specially engineered retractable Pro tip with force limit technology to protect Z Fold3’s Main Screen for peace of mind while using the S Pen,” Samsung says.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 is available for pre-order starting today, and it will hit the shelves in select markets in the U.S., Europe, and Korea on August 27. Pricing starts at $1,799.
