14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has silently kicked off the rollout of Android 10 for the Galaxy S10 at least for one market, according to a report today.
The South Korean firm started the Android 10 beta program a few weeks ago, and despite the stable version was expected in late December or early January, it looks like the first devices are already getting what appears to be the final build of the update.
A report from SamMobile reveals that Germany is the very first country where the stable version of Android 10 goes live for the Galaxy S10, albeit for the time being it appears that only devices that have previously been enrolled in the beta program are getting it.
Further polishing may be required
Very important to know is that despite this release being marked as a stable update, the experience with Android 10 might still require further polishing, so expect additional updates shipped to devices by the end of the year. The role of these updates would be specifically to resolve the latest bugs in the update before more devices get it.
The cited source indicates that the software version is labeled as G97**XXU3BSKO and also includes the December security patch. It’s 140MB in size, so it’s a rather small package given that it’s shipped to devices that are already running Android 10 beta builds.
Samsung is yet to officially announce Android 10 for its devices, but the rollout should continue with more waves and obviously more countries getting the update. You can check for updates on any Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ if you live in Germany (and maybe elsewhere if you’re lucky enough), but for the time being, it’s better not to get your hopes too high on this, as the rollout might advance rather slower than faster.
