Samsung has officially taken the wraps off the Galaxy Watch 5 lineup, and just as expected, the Pro model is the main star of the show.

As a more rugged version of the standard Galaxy Watch 5, the Pro model comes with a titanium case, whereas the base version features an aluminum case.

The device features exactly the same display as the 44mm Galaxy Watch 5, namely 1.4 inches with 450x450 pixels, Super AMOLED, and Always-On support. It’s Sapphire Crystal, with the same material also used on both the 40mm and the 44mm standard models.

The tech specs are pretty much the same as on the Galaxy Watch 5, so the Pro model is equipped with an Exynos W920 chip paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. It runs One UI Watch 4.5 based on Wear OS 3.5.

The big difference takes place in terms of battery and physical dimensions.

The Pro model measures 45.4 x 45.4 x 10.5 mm, and at 46.5 grams, it’s significantly heavier than the 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 5, which tips the scales at 33.5 grams.

When it comes to batteries, the larger Galaxy Watch 5 comes with a 410 mAh unit, while the Pro is equipped with a 590 mAh battery.

“Created for those that love the great outdoors, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is the newest addition to the Galaxy Watch portfolio. From hiking to cycling and beyond, Watch5 Pro is ready for the challenge thanks to its premium materials. It features enhanced Sapphire Crystal that better resists any wear and tear and a durable titanium casing that protects the display with a protruded bezel design. Galaxy Watch5 Pro also comes with an all-new D-Buckle Sport Band that offers rugged durability with a sleek and clean fit,” Samsung says.

The Galaxy Watch5 Pro will start at $449 for the Bluetooth version and $499 for the LTE version.
