The device could see the daylight on February 8

Samsung has already announced the Galaxy S21 FE, so now the company can concentrate all its efforts on the next big launch on its calendar: the highly anticipated Galaxy S22.

Projected to see the daylight in early 2022, the Galaxy S22 is one of the models spearheading Samsung’s push in the mobile market, so the company is having some pretty big expectations from this device.

This is why the South Koreans want everything to go exactly as planned for the S22.

Samsung originally unveiled the new models included in the Galaxy S lineup in February, with the shipments then kicking off in March. In the last few years, however, the company changed this schedule to bring the new Galaxy S models to the market faster, possibly in an attempt to speed up the debut of an iPhone alternative.

As a result, the new Galaxy S models landed in January, whereas the first units were shipped to customers in February.

Galaxy S due in early February

Now it looks like Samsung is changing the dates once again, as a company official reportedly told Digital Daily that the unveiling of the Galaxy S22 will take place on February 8.

After the device sees daylight, Samsung plans to being taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 a day later, so customers should be able to reserve their S22 starting February 9. The first units will ship to customers on February 24 if the dates are correct.

The timing seems just about right. Given Samsung has already launched the Galaxy S21 FE, the company most likely wants to give this model some exclusive time on the market.

Rolling out the Galaxy S22 earlier would basically cannibalize the S21 FE, therefore reducing its chances to become a hit substantially. It remains to be seen if the leak proves accurate, but at first glance, everything seems to be making perfect sense.
