Samsung is working around the clock on giving the finishing touches to the Galaxy S22, as the company is planning to take the wraps off this device in early February.

The first months of the year are pretty busy for Samsung overall, so after the South Koreans took the wraps off the Galaxy S21 FE in early January, it’s now gearing up for a much more important launch.

This time, it’s the Galaxy S22, a device that’s spearheading its mobile device strategy and is often considered the main alternative to the iPhone.

US prices revealed

Needless to say, Samsung has so far remained completely tightlipped on everything related to the Galaxy S22, but everybody knows the device is just around the corner.

And thanks to information published online by @chunvn8888, we also know how much the upcoming Galaxy S22 is expected to cost in the United States.

According to this leak, the most affordable Galaxy S22 will carry an $899 price tag, which means Samsung is increasing the price of the base model by $100. Last year, the cheapest S21 could be had for $799, so the $100 price hike is a little surprising given the competition against the iPhone.

The Galaxy S22+, which is the upgraded version of the base device, will cost $1,099, once again up $100 as compared to the previous model. And last but not least, the almighty Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available from $1,299, so Samsung is increasing the price by $100 for all the new models in its lineup.

The Galaxy S22 is expected to be announced in the first week of February, while the device will start shipping to customers later in the same month.

Of course, the company has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the Galaxy S22, but given the launch is just around the corner, expect the typical invites for the upcoming Unpacked event to surface by the end of the month.
