Galaxy S22 shows up online for the very first time

We’re all counting the days until Samsung takes the wraps off the all-new Galaxy S22, and based on the information we currently have, the launch should take place in the first days of February.

In other words, we’re less than a month away from the moment the new Galaxy S22 will see the daylight, so it makes sense for more and more information about the device to reach the web.

This time, what we have here is the first store listing of the Galaxy S22, with the folks over at GalaxyClub claiming this is the European version of the device.

The Galaxy S22 showing up online so early isn’t unusual, but on the other hand, it appears to indicate something that not everybody might be a fan of.

Exynos on European versions

This European version of the Galaxy S22 appears to come with an Exynos chip under the hood, with Samsung therefore expected to stick with its previous approach and only offer the Snapdragon variant in the United States.

Earlier this month, several tipsters claimed the South Koreans could change this strategy and offer the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S22 alongside the Exynos sibling here in Europe, but of course, this wouldn’t make much sense from a business perspective.

Given the Qualcomm model has often been praised for its performance boost versus the Exynos, it goes without saying many people would just go for this version. So eventually, the Exynos-powered S22 would suffer not only in terms of sales but also as far as its image is concerned, as it’s a Samsung device powered by a Samsung chip.

Of course, everything is still unconfirmed so far, so given we’re only a few weeks away from the official S22 announcement, a small dose of skepticism still comes in handy.
