Samsung has already launched 45W charging on the Galaxy S20 before pulling it for a super-odd reason on the Galaxy Note20, and now the company is getting ready to a step further in this regard.

The South Korean company is believed to be working on 65W charging for the Galaxy S21, and according to GalaxyClub, a charger that would power such speeds is already in the works.

Worth knowing is that the name of the next Galaxy model isn’t yet certain, as some people call it a Galaxy S21, while others refer to this model as Galaxy S30.

As for the charging speed upgrade, this is obviously a massive and welcome update, especially because the Galaxy lineup is currently Samsung’s high-end offering. But of course, it remains to be seen if Samsung is indeed ready for such an upgrade, and more importantly, it’ll be interesting to see if Samsung brings it to the Galaxy Note lineup too.

The charger saga

Charging speeds and adapters that would power the whole thing are making the headlines more often than before, and it’s because this has become an important feature of new smartphones launching these days.

For example, while Samsung is betting big on faster charging, Apple is trying to focus more on wireless charging.

The next iPhone generation, which could be announced on October 13, is likely to come without a charger in the box, as Apple wants to reduce the costs of the device. What this means is that customers buying the iPhone would have to spend extra on a charger, unless they already have one from a previous-generation model.

At the same time, it looks like Apple would insist on wireless charging, especially as all iPhones now feature such capabilities, with the company also believed to be working on a new AirPower that could go live rather sooner than later.
