Now that Apple has already launched the iPhone 14, the next big launches in the mobile market are the new-generation Pixel and Samsung’s Galaxy S23.

And while it’s believed the Pixel 7 is just around the corner, the Galaxy S23 continues to be a mysterious device whose launch date is still unclear.

Last year, Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy S22 on February 9, with the first units shipping to customers on February 25.

But a new report from ETNews indicates that Samsung is planning to bring the device to the market earlier than usual. But of course, no further specifics have been provided, so it’s hard to tell right now what earlier than usual actually means.

South Koreans obviously tightlipped on the S23 launch date

At first glance, Samsung is eyeing a release date that’s some two or three weeks ahead of the typical date, which in theory means the new Galaxy S23 could see daylight in January. The sales could therefore begin in early February.

A confirmation in this regard doesn’t obviously exist, but despite all the rumors that have be swirling around the web lately, we shouldn’t expect the Galaxy S23 to see the daylight in late 2022. The timing wouldn’t make any sense for Samsung, especially as the company typically unveils its flagship phone in the first months of the year.

In the meantime, Samsung is working around the clock on preparing the release of Android 13 and One UI 5.0 for its existing devices. And according to the typical schedule, the flagship models, including here the Galaxy S22, could get the update to Android 13 by the end of the year – the beta program has already launched, so if you want to try out the new version in advance, you know what you have to do.
