Samsung has recently confirmed the release date of Android 11 for its devices, with the first wave of models to get it as soon as this month.

Google announced Android 11 with much fanfare earlier this year, and needless to say, the Pixel series was one of the first smartphones to get this new operating system.

Naturally, Samsung wanted to first launch its very own beta program for the update, and now it looks like the testing is approaching the final stages, with the public rollout to begin rather sooner than later.

In other words, it’s now just a matter of days until Samsung starts shipping the Android 11 update to the first devices, and according to information published by the South Korean company itself and obtained by TizenHelp, the Galaxy S20 is the first to get it.

First devices getting it this month

More specifically, the Android 11 rollout is projected to kick off this month for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, while January will bring the update for more devices, including Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy Note10, and Galaxy Note10+.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Note10 Lite won’t get the update before March 2021, the same month when the South Korean company will officially roll out Android 11 for a series of other models, including M30s, Galaxy A51, M31, and M21.

Needless to say, these are the dates when the Android 11 rollout starts for the said models, so it could still take longer until the update becomes available for all devices.

The strategy, however, seems to be very similar to the one used in the previous years, with flagships obviously the first to get the new Android operating system, while the rest of the Samsung device portfolio follows in the next months throughout the year.
