Samsung is one of the companies pushing hard for a mobile experience that expands beyond the smartphone, and DeX is the feature supposed to make everything happen.

By connecting a supported Samsung phone to an external screen, be it a PC screen or a TV, users can be provided with a desktop mode that allows them to work just like they’d do on a typical computer.

Samsung DeX has evolved a lot lately, and the release of One UI 3.1 allows the South Korean company to bring the wireless version to more devices. And according to a new report, the feature is now available on all supported Galaxy flagships, not just the latest models.

More specifically, Samsung Wireless DeX on PC can now be used with a Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and a Galaxy Z Fold 2.

One UI 3.1 required

All you need to do is install the companion Samsung DeX for PC app on Windows 10 or macOS, and then pair your devices and follow the instructions to start the desktop interface.

Samsung hasn’t officially announced this change, and its website still claims the wireless mode is only available on the Galaxy S21 series.

“Samsung DeX promises to usher in a new era of mobile-powered desktop computing, allowing you to transform your phone into a killer PC. The best part: It’s free. The DeX platform is built into the software of many of the latest Samsung Galaxy mobile devices, so all you need to get started using DeX are a monitor, HDMI adapter and peripherals. And with the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra 5G, you can now use DeX wirelessly on most Smart TVs and other displays that support Miracast,” it says.

The feature is only available on devices running One UI 3.1.
