Samsung is working around the clock on the expansion of the Samsung Wallet, and this week, the company announced the debut of the app in eight new countries.

After previously launching Samsung Wallet last year and bringing it to a slew of countries, including Finland, Italy, Germany, Spain, the UK and the US, the South Korean company is now focused entirely on bringing the app to as many users as possible in a timely manner.

As a result, the app should become available for users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan by the end of the month.

“When Samsung launched Samsung Wallet last year, we committed to building the experience through open partnerships with our business and service providers and ensuring access to the platform for as many people as possible,” Jeanie Han, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics, said in a typical PR statement published this week.

“Over the past several months, we’ve worked hard to rapidly expand the availability of Samsung Wallet, bringing the platform to more potential users. We look forward to sharing exciting new developments in the year ahead.”

Samsung promises to continue to expand the availability of the Wallet app, but for the time being, no further specifics as to where the app could launch next have been provided.

However, we should expect more information on this front in the coming months, especially as Samsung is preparing a refresh of its hardware lineup as well.

The next big release for the company is the Galaxy S23, which is projected to be announced during the Unpacked event due in February. As a result, Samsung executives are likely to discuss the adoption of Samsung Wallet during the event as well.
