The battle for the best (or worst) assistant on Windows seems to continue, as Samsung has recently announced that it’s bringing Bixby to the new Windows 11.

Coming pre-loaded with the updated Galaxy Book, Bixby will be able to search for files or launch apps using nothing else than a voice command.

Samsung hopes users will discover the magic of Bixby and give up on any other assistant they may have on their devices, such as Cortana, especially because it also offers SmartThings-related capabilities.

“For even more mobility with your device, Samsung has introduced Bixby on Windows for Galaxy Book users to provide an intuitive way for you to interact with your PC. Through simple voice commands, you can search for files, open apps and Settings and even control devices within your SmartThings-registered device ecosystem. Simply say “Hi Bixby” or press CTRL, Shift and B or FN and B simultaneously to activate the Bixby on Windows feature, and enjoy easy installation by visiting the Microsoft store or searching for Bixby in your Windows taskbar,” Samsung said in an announcement.

Samsung Galaxy Book is ready for Windows 11

Like the rest of the PC makers out there, Samsung has prepared its Galaxy Book for Windows 11, so the update should already be available on the device if you own one.

In a press release shared this week, Samsung explains that all the latest technologies available on the desktop can be used on Windows 11 too, including Link to Windows to pair smartphones with PCs.

“With the update, you can check your phone connectivity status, manage sound controls and even enable ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode on your Galaxy Book series, all with the help of the familiar UI just as you see on your Galaxy smartphones and tablets for more seamless control using your PC. Link to Windows also comes with Dark Mode for comfortable viewing experiences no matter the time of day,” the company says.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G will come with Windows 11 pre-loaded, and most other Galaxy Book models should receive the upgrade to the new OS in the coming weeks.
