A new software update is now available for download

Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy Watch 3, and the changelog includes so many big features that users are going to love.

First and foremost, one of the biggest additions is support for SmartThings Find, which is a feature that allows you to see the location of the smartwatch on the map. In other words, it’s more like Find My Phone, so it makes it a lot harder to lose your smartwatch – or get it stolen, of course.

Samsung says it has also added a hand wash mode, which knows exactly as you’d expect it to work. Every time you enter your house, the smartwatch tracks the way you wash your hands and displays a time to make sure you cleaned your hands thoroughly. When you’re done, you get a small buzz to let you know the handwashing has been completed.

More improvements and stability fixes in this update

This is a feature other smartwatches are coming with too, and Samsung says this software update makes it possible for the device to automatically detect when you’re washing your hands and start a timer.

In addition, the new firmware update reduces the auto workout recognition time for running, rowing machine, and elliptical, so in theory, the smartwatch now needs less time to be able to determine when you’re working out and start the tracking automatically.

And last but not least, Samsung has added a new option to enjoy a group-walking challenge with your friends, as well as the typical system stability and reliability.

The update comes in a 74.02 MB package, and can be downloaded just like any other update on your smartwatch. It’s available right now for the Galaxy Watch 3, regardless of the region where you live.
