Deep Silver has just announced the updated and enhanced version of Saints Row: The Third will be released on PC and consoles on May 22. The remastered will be developed in cooperation with Sperasoft and promises to offer lots of enhancements over the original game.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered will be available for purchase for $40 / €40 on all major platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, PC players will only be able to buy the game on Epic Games Store, as Deep Silver has signed an exclusivity agreement with Epic Games.

It's worth mentioning that in addition to the game, the new version will also include all three expansion packs and more than 30 pieces of downloadable content from the original, all of these remastered just like the base game.

As far as the improvements go, Deep Silver announced that Saints Row: The Third Remastered has received a full makeover. As such, all weapons have been remodeled, cars have been redesigned, and a huge part of the city has been retextured with over 4,000 assets updated to match the current-gen fidelity.

Overall, Saints Row: The Third Remastered feature retextured environments, character models and visual effects, enhanced graphics and a brand-new lighting engine. An announcement trailer that highlights some of the improvements included in the remastered has been released as well.

Saints Row: The Third was originally released in 2011 and lets players control the Saints at the height of their power. Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name with Saints sneakers and energy drinks.

The Syndicate, an infamous criminal fraternity has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Your job is to fight against a highly-trained military force in the most adrenaline-packed gameplay scenarios ever seen in the history of the franchise.
