14 DAY TRIAL // Conan Chop Chop was supposed to be an April Fool's Day joke, but seeing the positive reactions from gamers and media alike, Australian developer Mighty Kingdom and Norwegian publisher Funcom decide that this must be a real game.
The official Conan Chop Chop was revealed six months ago at E3 with the promise that it will be launched by the end of the year. However, the folks at Mighty Kingdom decided that they need extra time to include some important features like online multiplayer and delayed the game for Q1 2020.
With just a week left until the end of the year, publisher Funcom and developer Might Kingdom announced Conan Chop Chop will be making to all platforms on February 25, 2020. The upcoming action-adventure game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
“We have had so much fun developing this game, that I actually have mixed feelings about the end being nigh. An action-adventure rogue-lite party-game. Featuring Conan. I mean, what more can you ask for?” said Mighty Kingdom CEO Philip Mayes.
After the game was officially revealed at E3, it traveled to lots of other important places where people had the chance to try it out, including Cologne and Melbourne. The studio behind the game, Mighty Kingdom, has even been named Studio of the Year at Australian Game Developer Awards.
“It’s been hard work, but really enjoyable. Some of my favorite moments were in LA and Cologne, where we got to see how much people enjoyed playing Chop Chop. And now that we have polished the game further, I am really looking forward to seeing the reception it will have at launch,” added Mayes.
Conan Chop Chop is a 1-4 player action-adventure game that features some rogue-like elements. As the name suggests, it's set in the Conan the Barbarian universe. While it does allow you to play it solo, it's always better to get your buddies along with you in online or couch co-op mode.
It's also worth mentioning that Conan Chop Chop has random maps and tons of weapons and abilities to try out to ensure that every new game will be a whole new experience. And since players will surely die more than once, it's nice to know that you can unlock new weapons that will be available for in the next playthrough.
