14 DAY TRIAL // Gunfire Games' Remnant: From the Ashes is one of the nicest surprises this year. The game that made its debut on PC and consoles last month is getting new content on September 19, publisher Perfect World Entertainment announced recently.
The upcoming update will add a new Adventure Mode and a new dungeon and will be free for all Remnant: From the Ashes owners on all platforms. The Adventure Mode will bring a new layer of exploration to the game, by allowing players to ”re-roll” the following biomes: Ruined Earth, Rhom and Yaesha without having to play all the way through the main campaign.
The new Adventure Mode can be activated from the World Stone in Ward 13 and will allow players and their teammates to select to roll one of these dynamically generated biomes, then continue to explore dungeons, encounter new enemies, or fight their preferred world bosses.
The Adventure Mode is meant to offer players the chance to uncover all of the game’s secrets, but developer Gunfire Games thought it would be great to allow players to keep all of their progress and items obtained in Adventure Mode, which lets them keep rolling in order to obtain all of the many weapons, armors, mods, and other items the game has to offer.
The new Leto’s Lab dungeon will be available alongside Adventure Mode next week and will take players on a quest through Research Station Alpha. The new dungeon features light puzzles mixed with intense combat, including a new boss fight. As soon as players are dynamically spawned in Ruined Earth, the new dungeon will shed more light on the game’s intricate backstory and its enigmatic red crystals, also known as World Stones.
As mentioned earlier, both Adventure Mode and Leto’s Lab are completely free and will appear as part of an automatic update to the game on or around September 19. Meanwhile, you can check out our in-depth Remnant: From the Ashes review.
