The new update should improve overall sound quality

Realtek has made available a new HD Audio version, namely the 6.0.1.7926 update, which maintains compatibility with Microsoft’s Windows 10 Threshold (TH) and Redstone (RS) anniversary editions.

In addition to that, besides the platforms mentioned above, this update also includes support for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, and it can be applied to either desktop or notebook configurations.

However, even though other OSes might seem to be compatible, you should know that installing the present update on different platforms isn’t recommended. Doing so might lead to malfunctions that would require you to remove and apply the appropriate driver.

With this in mind, if you consider installing Realtek’s present update, save and unzip the downloadable archive to an accessible location on your computer, and locate and run the available setup file from within the newly created folder.

Afterward, just follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade. Also, make sure to give the wizard permission to perform a system reboot (or carry it out manually) so that all changes can take effect properly.

That said, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7926, carefully install the new version, perform a restart upon completion, and check our website as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
