The Shattering is a brand-new game from developer Super Sexy Software and publisher Deck13. Revealed earlier today, the game will be released for PC via Steam on April 21 for a price that will be announced closer to launch. The psychological thriller is a work of passion coming from a small studio comprising of just 5 close friends.

Development started seven years ago and the game took shape over various iterations. The result is a game that wants to instill fear through a dual-tone art style and the absence of information.

The Shattering follows some of the most important moments in John’s life. Players must discover the truth, shatter the lies and, ultimately, as well as remember information about persons important to him.

Graphics-wise, it's important to mention that this is a very white game. It's not black and white since it does feature other accents, but white is the predominant color in The Shattering.

Although it's a thriller, The Shattering has beautiful and rich realistic environments painted with a pristine white aesthetic to offer an original scenery that stands apart. The story is split into five acts that piece together knowledge of the past and an understanding of the present as the player progresses.

You start the game by stepping into the shoes of John Evans, the protagonist who doesn't remember much about himself. As a genre, The Shattering can be described as a first-person, story-driven, psychological thriller, which focuses on dynamic environments, beautiful aesthetic and intriguing story.

The Shattering doesn't allow players to fail in their quest to find out what happened with the main character and there are no complicated puzzles either. According to developers, the gameplay is meant to put players into the mind of John, as they take each step forward into the twisted mystery of what happened.
