Users want Pokemon GO on Windows devices

Pokemon GO launched a few days ago for Android and iOS, and just like it happened in some other cases too, users of Windows phones are left behind, with no plans to bring the game on Microsoft’s mobile platform whatsoever.

A petition that we told you about yesterday calls for a port of the game to be released on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile too, and it looks like the community has once again joined forces for this common goal, and many have already signed it.

In just a few hours, the petition jumped from 4,000 signatures to nearly 14,000, and this only shows that a version of Pokemon GO for Windows phones would really be a welcome launch for users on the platform.

Still no work on Pokemon GO for Windows phones

The comments posted on the petition page pretty much speak for themselves and show why Pokemon GO should exist on Windows phones as well.

“I've been a Pokemon fan for essentially my entire life. My smartphone decision shouldn't impact my ability to play one of the most popular franchises ever,” one user posted. Another one added, “I have been playing Pokémon since the release of Red and Blue on Game Boy. As an adult, I am still a fan but need the most productive and quickly growing phone OS.”

For the moment, there is still no sign that Pokemon GO would ever be released for Windows phones, although it’s very clear that the community wants and needs the game to launch on this platform as well.

The petition was launched 10 months ago, but it is only now going viral, given the fact that Pokemon GO launched on Android and iOS, so it remains to be seen how many Windows Phone fans actually sign it. But since this is one of the most loyal and united mobile communities out there, most of them would back bringing Pokemon GO to Windows Phone even if they don’t want to play the game.
