Some users might switch from the regular Pixel 3

After days of leaked information about the Pixel3a, the official announcement dropped from Google, and it confirms everything and more.

There was a time when Google phones were affordable, but somewhere along the line, it passed the 1000$ mark. The company wanted to provide a reference device for other manufacturers to follow and to give developers an affordable tool to work with. Needless to say, there aren’t too many developers ready to spend $1000 every year.

From the look of it, Google remembered why they started making phones, and they built a more affordable variant for Pixel 3 and named it Pixel 3a. Other companies launch a second version more powerful than the earlier one; Google releases a less powerful version at half the price.

All the good bits are still there

The new Pixel3a comes with a big brother named Pixel 3a XL. The main difference is the larger OLED screen, and that’s about it. The difference between the 5,6-inch Pixel 3a and 6,3 Pixel 3a XL is just $80, and you can get them unlocked from the Google Store, although all of the other major carriers are supported. And behold, the notch is gone.

The most important aspect is the back camera, which is the same one from the regular Pixel 3. And we all know just how good is that 12MP camera with optical and electronic stabilization. All the other perks are available as well, along with the great Portrait Mode and Night Sight.

Of course, users are also going to get a battery enough for 30 hours of regular use, fast charging, and unlimited storage for high-quality pictures taken with the camera. Google also promises three years of support, which should be more than enough to keep your phone safe.

The Pixel 3a is finally here, and you can get one from your carrier or from the Google Store, which one is available. Did we tell you that it also comes with a headphone jack?
