New leaked images reveal a glass back as well

Leaked images of a Pixel 3 XL prototype have been published, and it looks like the notch is finally confirmed if there was any need for a confirmation.

The community still had a glimmer of a hope that the previous leaks that were showing a notch on the Pixel 3 XL model were false. From the looks of it, they were actually spot on, which means that the Pixel 3 XL will feature a notch.

The good news is that Google is working a double angle, as they usually do, and they have a regular size Google Pixel 3 in the works as well, which doesn’t have the notch. It will be an unusual situation if the smaller and cheaper model sells better than the XL variant.

Everything we know about it

With so much leaked information about the Pixel 3 XL arriving at once, it’s getting difficult to keep track. For example, the bigger model will have a 6.2-inch display, and the smaller one only sports a 5.3-inch screen.

Also, the phones are going to be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform, and they will be running the upcoming Android P, although that’s no surprise. Furthermore, it looks like the Pixel 3 XL will have dual cameras on the front, and only one on the back, and the stereo speakers are back on.

Another exciting aspect is the addition of a glass back. Some people won’t like that because it makes it more susceptible to cracking. At the same time, it would allow Google to use wireless charging, again. Let’s not forget that the Nexus 6 was the last one to have this feature.

The community is now split down the middle, or so it seems, on the entire notch business. While it’s not an elegant solution, it’s here, and it’s not going anywhere, at least not anytime soon.
