14 DAY TRIAL // Details about a Pixel 3 Lite variant have leaked online, and it looks like Google is trying to win some of the fans back, with a headphone jack and a notchless display.
There was a time when Google usually released two different Nexus phones, with different hardware. And people still remember when Google was releasing incredibly affordable phones because they had no interest in making money with their hardware. Or at least this is what the were saying a few years back.
Now, of course, all of their phones are considered premium, and the number of regular Android users buying their devices has shrunk. The only way to win some of them back is to release a more affordable version of Pixel, and the latest leaks are indicating that something along these lines might be coming.
It’s a promising leak
The latest leaks come from Rozetked, the same ones who also released details about the Pixel 3 Xl variant. Unlike other leaks, they didn’t bother showing a little bit of the frame or some faraway look. All the pictures are up close, and they even listed the technical specifications.
It’s impossible to know for sure if all these details are accurate or true, but they certainly seem that way. Pixel 3 Lite, codename Sargo, is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 670, a 5.56-inch display (IPS), with a 2220×1080 resolution.
What’s surprising is the fact that it features a 3.5mm headphone jack and the display doesn’t feature a notch. On the other hand, the regular Pixel 3 version doesn’t have a notch either.
Furthermore, Pixel 3 Lite should also have 4GB RAM and just 32GB of nonexpendable storage, which is a bummer, and a plastic frame. Also, from the looks of it, the same 12MP back camera from Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL is being used. The front has only one camera. The 2,915mAh battery is a modest one, but it shouldn’t have problems with these specs.
There is no indication regarding the launch date, but the pictures show a finished product and not a prototype, so it might be sooner than later.
