Frozenbox Network, the developer of the Parrot Security OS ethical hacking distribution for personal computers and embedded devices, has announced the release of Raspberry Pi and Cubieboard 4 binary images for Parrot Security OS 3.0.

Dubbed Lithium, the highly anticipated Parrot Security OS 3.0 release arrived on June 21, 2016, and it's a massive update to previous versions of the Debian-based cloud-friendly operating system powered by GNU/Linux and Open Source technologies.

Parrot Security OS 3.0 was designed with penetration testing and security auditing in mind. It's an OS built for security professionals to use in ethical hacking, cloud pentesting, reverse engineering, cryptography, and computer forensic operations.

At the moment of the release, Frozenbox Network promised a total of six flavors for Parrot Security OS 3.0, each one designed for a specific target audience, featuring more or less security-oriented tools, as well as different desktop environments.

Ethical hacking on Raspberry Pi and Cubieboard 4 (CC-A80)

While some of you are proudly using Parrot Security OS 3.0 on their 32-bit and 64-bit personal computers and laptops, Frozenbox Network devs were hard at work preparing the ARMhf (ARM Hard Float) images for Raspberry Pi and Cubieboard 4 (CC-A80) SBCs.

And today, July 9, 2016, they have announced the availability for download of these ARMhf binary images of Parrot Security OS 3.0, allowing users to install the ethical hacking distro on the single-board computer devices mentioned above.

Of course, you can also download ARMhf rootfs and ARMhf generic rootfs binary images for other IoT (Internet of Things) devices. The OS is based on Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" and ships with a custom hardened Linux 4.5 kernel.

The desktop environment should be MATE, and you'll find some of the most famous digital forensic tools and frameworks, dozens of anonymity, cryptography and programming utilities, and many other goodies for your penetration testing needs.

The Parrot Security OS 3.0 Full, Lite, Cloud, Parrot Libre, Parrot LXDE, and Parrot Studio editions are available for download today as well from the official website of the ethical hacking GNU/Linux operating system.
