The new release improves image stabilizer performance

Panasonic has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its LUMIX DMC-G80, DMC-G81, and DMC-G85 camera models, namely version 1.1, which improves image stabilizer performance during the motion picture recording.

Therefore, if you want to enjoy this enhancement or simply want this latest firmware, save and unzip the downloadable archive, and copy the “G8x__V11.bin” file onto a formatted memory card (must be initialized using your LUMIX camera).

Now, before moving any further, back up all settings that you have changed from the default values and make sure the device’s battery is fully charged; if the battery isn’t full, the upgrade process won’t start.

If all is ok, turn off the LUMIX unit, insert the newly prepared memory card into your camera, and power it on while pressing the “Play” button so that the new firmware can be recognized. Once found, agree with the update process, and wait patiently for the new firmware to be applied.

Even though this seems easy, bear in mind that, while installing, you mustn’t turn the device off, use any of its buttons, or remove the SD card, battery, or lens. Doing so will not only interrupt the upgrade but might also lead to various device malfunctions.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your device model, carefully apply it on your unit, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
