The new firmware update fixes a system error that occurred

Panasonic has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its VariCam 35 and HD imaging units, namely version 5.10-00-0.01, which addresses a few issues that affected the camera in certain situations.

Specifically speaking, this update fixes the system error that occurred when the user restarted recording immediately after it is stopped. However, this issue was spotted only when a Codex V-RAW Recorder was connected.

In addition to that, Panasonic also managed to resolve the bug that caused the date and time indicator to reset when incorrect time data was received from GPS module. Now, the unit won’t reset settings even if wrong data is introduced.

When it comes to installation, first download and unzip the firmware file, format an SD card using the camera, and copy the “PRIVATE” folder onto the memory card. Afterwards, connect the card to the camera, remove the cable between viewfinder and camera body, and press the INFO button.

Now, simply navigate to VERSION > UPDATE screen, select “Ok,” and wait until a “Version update successful” message is displayed. Take into account that this process can take up to 60 minutes, so be patient.

That said, download Panasonic VariCam Camera Firmware 5.10-00-0.01 for your appropriate model, carefully apply the new update, and constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
