The tiny Palm device rumored to arrive since August now has a release time in November, on Verizon Verizon Wireless' network, and a $350 price tag.

After HP bought Palm in 2010, Chinese electronics TCL Corporation acquired it in October 2014 and added to its own portfolio to use it as a smartphone brand.

TCL Corporation eventually sold it to a San Francisco startup which is now using it to name a 3.3-inch device that you can add to a Verizon plan and that works pretty much like a smartwatch.

It will have the same number as your main phone and will sync with it to display call and text message notifications, allowing you to leave behind your smartphone with a 6+ inch display and enjoy your evening or weekend.

The Palm uses Verizon's Message+ app to synchronize your SMS and phone calls, and it will also receive all your notifications from the primary phone, be it an Android or an iOS device.

Despite its name, the new Palm code-named Pepito and with the PVG100 model number, does not run the now-defunct Palm OS but Android 8.1 Oreo.

Furthermore, the Palm comes with all the sensors needed to be used as a health tracking device just like most smartwatches (e.g., GPS, gyroscope, proximity sensor, eCompass). This, coupled with its small sized display is supposed to induce a lack of desire to use it for work and to switch to a more healthy focus on having fun and working out.

The Pepito PVG100 Palm bundles a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and 3 GB of RAM

Even though it is designed as a sort of smartphone add-on for your main phone, the Palm allows you to install any application available in Google's Play store.

"Pepito" features IP68 water-resistance certification and Gorilla Glass 3 display which makes it the ideal phone to have in your pocket if you go for a dive once in a while, but you're not going to drop it around that much.

Moreover, the Palm does not come with a fingerprint scanner, but it does feature a face recognition implementation, as well as support for pattern- and passcode-based unlocking.

The new Palm has a 3.3-inch 720p 445 PPI LCD and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with 32 GB of internal storage and 3 GB of RAM according to a Digital Trends report.

It also has a 300mAh battery (not that big but with enough punch to power a minute device such as the Palm for a day), an 8 MP front camera and a back-facing one with a 12 MP sensor and a flash.

The "Pepito" Palm will come with a price tag of $350 or $300 if you are ready to sign up for a two-year Verizon plan and it will be an exclusive on Verizon Wireless' network. It's also important to mention that the Palm will share your main smartphone's data plan and it will also require a monthly $10 NumberShare plan.
