While the implementation of the GDPR rules has without a doubt changed the way user data is handled on the Old Continent, the browsing experience has become a bit more frustrating for many users, as they’re provided with privacy dialogs on every single website.

The latest version of Opera browser for Android is supposed to resolve this frustrating assault with dialogs all over the web by simply streamlining the browsing experience with a blocker taking care of everything for you.

Opera for Android 48 comes with new options in Settings > Ad blocking that allow you to configure what you want to see when loading a website and block further cookie popups from showing up.

“With new privacy regulations, we have seen a noticeable increase of cookie and privacy dialogs in our browsers,” Opera says. “We have extended on our ad blocker technology to optionally include the elimination of the vast majority of these cookie and privacy dialogs.”

Additionally, Opera 48 integrates new options when opening the browser so you can configure if you want your tabs to reopen when launching the app.

“Most of you appreciate having a new tab open when you return to the browser after some time. For those of you that don’t appreciate this, we’ve added a setting that controls how Opera will reopen active tabs when you continue in the browser. You can also choose to close or preserve your open tabs when you exit the browser,” Opera says.

Home screen shortcuts are also available beginning with this update, so you can just long-tap the app’s icon and get options to scan a QR code, open a new tab or a new private tab instantly.

There are also additional improvements, like small fixes in the UI, improvements to the autofill system, and options to save credit card information from a purchasing process.
