The time has come, and OnePlus has finally taken the wraps off its first smartwatch. Called OnePlus Watch, the device uses a traditional circular design with a 46mm case made from stainless steel, but OnePlus will also offer a dedicated Cobalt model that comes with cobalt alloy and sapphire glass.

On paper, the OnePlus Watch sounds good, but it’s far from a device that’ll blow your mind.

For example, it comes with dedicated sensors to track your heart rate, measure SpO2 levels, and keep an eye on your sleep, and OnePlus says overall, you are provided with no less than 110 workouts. Needless to say, all content can be synced with the OnePlus Heath app, but if you’re using Google Fit, that’s fully supported.

And it’s because OnePlus Watch works with any Android device, but also with iPhones, yet support for Apple’s devices isn’t available at launch.

There’s 4GB of onboard storage, and of course, you can make and answer phone calls, though OnePlus hasn’t specifically said whether a microphone and speaker are available.

Going on sale in April

The operating system isn’t Wear OS, but that shouldn’t necessarily be a problem, and OnePlus says this choice allowed to focus on other improvements, including substantially longer battery life.

“The OnePlus Watch gives you exceptional battery life quickly, delivering all-day power in just five minutes or a week’s power in just 20 minutes. The long-lasting 402 mAh battery gives you enough power for up to two weeks of sustainable use, as well as up to a week of power for the most active users,” the company explains.

The device comes with an IP68 rating and support for swimming, with SWOLF efficiency displayed at the end of every session. A built-in GPS sensor is also available to track your workouts.

The OnePlus Watch will go on sale in the United States and in international markets on April 14 with a $159 price tag.
