Obsidian has multiple projects in the works, but just one of them is playable at the moment – Grounded. A survival that has the player shrunk to the size of an ant and hunted by bugs and insects, Grounded has been available in Early Preview on Xbox Game Pass for two years.

The game has been played by over 10 million players since its release back in 2020 and received no less than 12 major updates. During the Xbox & Bethesda games showcase, Obsidian confirmed that the full release of Grounded is scheduled for September 2022. The game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC for $40. Of course, all Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members will get to play Grounded for free.

Along with the release window, Obsidian launched a new trailer that summarizes all the new features that the full game will include. Grounded players will finally be able to unravel the entire mysterious story behind the game and the reason why they’ve been shrunk. They will also be able to learn how they got into the yard and who’s behind the entire plot.

Furthermore, the full version of Grounded will open a new part of the game’s world, the upper yard, which includes a ton more of the backyard to explore along with new armor recipes, new weapon recipes, and some secrets. There’s also a new boss, the Mantis, an insect that’s been consistently requested by the community.

In related news, Obsidian announced another game, Pentiment, a 16th-century narrative adventure that will make its debut on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in November. Also, the studio has another two projects in the works, Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, but no additional details have been unveiled by the studio during Microsoft’s games showcase last week.
